Evolution as a Scientist:
At the beginning of the year I expected to learn all the science textbook basic. The different part of the human body, the structures of cells, and test on vocabulary memorization. What I came to learn though was that it would be completely different from what I was expecting. One of the most memorable events that I remember is when we were doing the fetal pig dissections because it made me realize that scientist don’t just perform experiments they also create hypothesis and observe data. I would say that I’ve evolved as a scientist through the practice of enhancing my observation skills with the paper cut outs we made to focus and analyze the structures and functions of different native plants near our school community, as well as fetal pigs where we observed their different organ systems. Through these activities I learned how to conduct observations and how to put them into use for my work.
