The Habits of Heart and Mind (HoHMs)
I noticed one of my partners showing perseverance when they felt like they weren't drawing good enough and weren't going to complete the drawings in time, but they took a deep breath and asked for help. They then focused on working on the drawings and not slacking off and without him we wouldn't have been able to publish our storybook.
An HoHm stretch for me this project was Cooperation because I didn't making an effort to work together and collaborate. I took on the Inkscape files and the storybook writing, then split the rest of the work between my two partners. We worked together on the small things but i feel I should have tried harder to assist my group instead of keeping to myself.
An HoHm strength for me this project was Refinement because with inkscape I had to make multiple drafts, fixing errors along the way. One error I had was making the border of the inside layer too small as well as adding a place holder for the light, when it had to be moved further up. I made multiple drafts afterwords fixing my mistakes. Unfortunately the lazer cutter broke afterwords we had already cut the earlier draft piece. So we improvised and sawed pieces off to look like the recent draft we had made.
Although Cooperation was my stretch, a cooperative moment I had with my triad was a couple days before the deadline when we all stayed after school to work together and finish our colored drawing which allowed us to finally publish our book.
During our meetings with our little buddy there wasn't a time when we were "triggered" because he was a more quiet than mischievous child. But since he was very quiet is was more difficult to communicate with him compared to other kids. I noticed that he struggled more with talking rather than interacting so when me and my partner were with him, to help with that we spent most of the time coloring and asking him to draw the answers to our questions rather than waiting for him to voice a response.
